Tours and stuff

Sam stood at the end of the Caldecott tunnel. Someone was supposed to meet him, and give him some kind of tour of New Rome. All part of some kind of Greek/Roman ally attempt. The son of Ares wasn’t really sure why he had been picked to go, there were plenty of other demigods who could have gone. He didn’t understand why it had to be him. It was too late now though, especially since the person who was supposed to meet him was currently twelve minutes late. Yes he was keeping track.

Carter was almost never late for anything, but today he was because his mother made him stay behind a little longer to clean up after dinner. Perks of being a minor. The First Cohort Centurion made his way into the tunnel, wearing a purple shirt, jeans, and a belt full of weapons. His blonde hair was a mess. Carter smiled at Sam. "Sorry I was late. You're Sam, the son of Ares, right?"

“Yeah. Nice to meet you too. Carter, Son of Mars?” Sam said taking in the mess of a Centurion in front of him. Did the roman really need that many weapons? He wondered. Maybe he never learned to hold onto them in battle. “Anyway, let’s get this over with.” He added, waiting for him to lead the way to Camp Jupiter.

"Yeah, I guess that makes us half-brothers. I'm also a legacy of Volturnus, and the Centurion of the First Cohort." He flashed his badge at him. "Yeah, of course." Carter led him to the Little Tiber. "This is the Little Tiber, it's like the protecting waters of camp." He put his hand in it.

“Yeah guess so...” Sam said, trying to carry the conversation a bit. But the Son of Ares didn’t really care for the Roman side of his dad, Mars. It was all really weird to him. So the river was like the borders at CHb, he made a mental note. He wasn’t going to touch it though, from what he heard he shouldn’t, not good for Greeks. That could just be a rumor of course, Chiron hadn’t said anything about it, but Chiron hadn’t said much about the entire trip to begin with.

Carter walked on the bridge over the lake, motioning for Sam to follow. "As soon as we follow down this road, we'll enter the militia part of camp, where the barracks, mess hall, all that fun stuff is." He put one hand on his weapon belt, since it was sliding down a little bit.
